I’ve spent the day from 9:30 till 3:30 at the courtyard on a talk about the new development plans for Hereford over the next ten-fifteen years. Here is my dad so far;
- 8:45 - 9:20 Woke up (which in itself is a miracle) and I trotted my way over to the Courtyard.
- 9:20 - 9:30 I stepped inside and somehow managed to get lost :(. I eventually found the right room after a great deal of hunting and the conference then opened with a welcome and introduction.
- 9:45 - 10:15 leisure and entertainment talk by Jonathan Bretherton (Cheif Executive).
- 10:15 - 10:40 Gerrard WIlliams (Development Director) talked about Housing and the new ‘Urban Village’.
- 10:40 - 10:50 - Coffee and Tea break!
- 10:50 - 11:15 - Roads/Parking & Infrastructure talk by Charles Pickles (Projects Engineer).
- 11:15 - 11:40 - Shopping & Retail was then discussed by Gary Bourne (Stanhope architect representative).
- 11:40 - 12:30 - A site tour around the to-be build site and display of a 3dmodel representing the plan by Julia Lawrence (Projects Manager).
- 12:30 - 13:00 - A break for lunch in the sunshine with a delightful buffet.
- 13:00 - 14:30 - We were each requested to answer the question “What Herefords future means for me” and asked present our thoughts.
- 14:30 - Time up! Most groups left however we stayed behind for slices (yes, plural) of cake in the cafe. Emma and I shared a nice pot of ‘tea for two’ whereas the others had hot-chocolates each.
- 15:40 - Emma gave me a lift home and I (in turn) directed her the quickest route back to school as she was needed rapidly for a meeting, neat huh?
Overall the day was pretty well organized. At times the talks got a bit dull but I guess it’s difficult to make roads and traffic sound exciting.

I spoke in church at St Pauls this morning. Before I went I simply thought I was going to be asked questions about faith and what-not but instead it ended up that I was asked to give a speech and I hadn’t prepared anything! I found out about five minutes before what I was meant to do and ended up improvising it. I think it went okay as I had quite a few people congratulate me on it afterwords, but to be fair I was bricking it.
For future reference; make sure you know exactly what you’re meant to be doing before the day you’re meant to be doing it!
since I’ve updated the blog. The reason for this is that my life has been rather hetic the last few months with examinations and work. I’ve now finished school (finally) and it appears to be all clear sailing from here. I’m enjoying my new found freedom, it feels good not to be ‘one of the kids’ anymore as the teachers view it. I had my prom last night which was good (pictures will be on flickr tomorrow) although got a bit dull after a while, was still cool getting a chance to wear my suit mind.
I intend now that life’s going my way to start blogging more. The next few months are going to be a bit mad, I’m applying for jobs and working on my own projects as I won’t be going to college - crossing my fingers that everything goes my way now!
Speak soon folks.
SkinsLife have just announced the date for the next set of auditions which are being held in London. The venue is yet to be announced, but both dates (17th April for 16 year-olds, 18th April for 17 year-olds) are out in the open so should be a good!
Anyone else going to be down on the 17th?
If you love the current cast of hit T.V series Skins, you may not be happy to hear that all of the main cast will be out of the picture at the end of the current series. Although I love ‘em all dearly, I’m rather happy because now I get to make the audition! Bit gutted I missed the one already that was held in Bristol, but I’ll make sure I make it for the next one (whenever that may be).
